python-biom-format software package provides Biological Observation Matrix (BIOM) format, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-biom-format
python-biom-format is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-biom-format package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-biom-format *
You will get with python-biom-format package name, version, architecture and description in a table
